The Vicarage Garden Party

The weather was at least dry for us to get into full swing with our garden party. There was an assortment of stalls, raffles, games, teasers and lucky dips and with a bottle tombola to beat all others, there were so many winners! It was amazing to watch. The entertainment came from Johnny Tarrino who visits all of our homes in the group and as usual he sang through the whole of the afternoon, giving us a real party feel.

Michelle our home manager had called on her daughter and her friend, who were selling raffle tickets on the day and Michelle’s other daughter Danni (a carer here at the Vicarage) and her partner also helped with the raffle prize table, when the winners came up to collect. We were happy to be supported by many members of staff and the parish councillors for Bayston Hill were invited and Ted Clarke made an appearance. There were between 40 – 50 prizes in the raffle. A vegetable hamper from our own vegetable supplier, afternoon tea token from Dobbie’s Garden centre nearby, free haircuts from our own hairdresser and a local company, a meal for two in a quiet country pub, flowers from Janet in our Kitchen staff and others donated from resident’s family members, staff and the home. Thanks to Karen and Vanessa for all their hard work and support of their families on the day.

We were very pleased with the number of family members that came to support and it was lovely to see.Tortie, our massive tortoise was used in our guess the weight competition belongs to Judy our business support manager and proved to be quite the popular item of the day. We raised £350 for our residents fund and thank everyone for their contributions.
